CONSIDERING VOLUNTEERING IN A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, SUCH AS FIJI?

GLOBAL VOLUNTEERING. You considering working internationally as a volunteer in a 3rd world country? Give it some serious thought. I outlaid thousands of dollars, in excess of AUD$7,000 to volunteer for 10 weeks in Fiji this year. A small gesture (patting a boy on the cheek good naturedly, where I worked at a school teaching English) blew out to be striking the child, with a lie thrown in for good measure (them, not me) just to make it more believable.
I wonder if other volunteer workers have experienced something similar? These Global Volunteer organisations aren't going to tell you. I volunteered through GVI.
I was expelled from Dawasamu Village after having been there just 3 weeks, on the strength of this accusation, with no moneys refunded to me, no legal support and no chance to build my defence, as there were other volunteers present.
Give it some deep thought. I'd like to hear of any other unfortunate well meaning people who have found themselves expelled for poor reasons and no defence.
